What I've been up to!

So, my last few Blog posts have been fillers for the most part...but it doesn't mean they aren't important! Especially the Voice Over stuff at LDP Productions !!

I have been pretty busy over the weekend, and I'll show ya what I've been doing....
My awesome husband and I have been doing some major summer cleaning around our house.
We had 2 rooms which were *gag* disgusting.
They were just stuffed full of stuff that we needed to throw away, or get rid of, and just hadn't.
But we finally bit the bullet, and got a storage unit and put some big items in there that we didnt want in the house, and about 600 totes of stuff. (Not really, but it seemed like it!)

So out of all that, my craft room emerged! I no longer have just a Corner...I have an entire ROOM!
*girl scream*
Yes, it needs new paint, and yes, the lighting is HORRIBLE...
But its mine.
ALL MINE!

OK, Ok, Not that impressive, but I promise you, its amazing in person...lol

I also did some re-organizing, and got this little piece of idea from Pintrest

How smart right? Rolls of ribbon in a little crate with holes...you can just pull the ribbon out and the ribbon stays put! GENIUS!!
Also, I got my shipment in from Oriental Trading! *Squeal*
350 pieces of fresh craft paper. 150 pieces of it is Christmas paper..WOOHOO!
I forced my friend Michelle to give me her entire family's info, and made her a fun Family board.
Of course, this isnt it finished, but heres what it looks like, kinda lol
So, at my son's school, they were going to have a "Blue Circle" Party....all about, you guessed it, Blue Circles.
So, I decided to try my hand at Cake Pops.
Well, my sister helped too :)

They were a learning experience...not hard, but not like crazy easy either...we know what we'll do different next time.

Sorry, I didnt get step by step pics...its a rather messy process lol
But here they are in my freezer.
Please dont look too hard at this picture....my freezer needs to be re-organized lol

Close up!
In all its Blue Circle Cake Pop glory.

Matching thumbnail color, just a fluke.

I also tried my hand at Mug Cake.

Yeah, not great.

Im going to keep looking for a recipe that is actually GOOD!

There ya have it.....now you know what I have been up to this week.

Wanna know what I'm up to next?
You'll have to wait and see the results ;)

So, Incase you were wondering what Exactly a Voice Over is...Here are a few of those Q's A'd for ya!

What is a voice over?

Voice Over is an industry term for recording. It is nothing more than a voice recorded for you to use in a radio or tv commercial or as your on hold message.

Who needs a voice over?

Anybody that owns a business needs a voice over. It is a professional way to relay information to your customers. Whether it’s a radio or tv commercial, on hold messages, announcements made in your store or a full business presentation LDP Production can help you.

Ok, now back to your regularly scheduled Crafting.

Gotta love them yard sales!

Last summer, I went on a search to find my then newly 3 year old a new twin size bed.
I looked at all the stores, and I just couldn't bring myself to spend 5...6....7...HUNDRED dollars on a bed for the little stinker!

As my Mom and I were out and about looking for Yard Sales, my friend Lori had posted on her Facebook that she was having a benefit sale to raise money for her participant fee for the 3 day walk for Breast Cancer.
Good Cause! So we headed *all the way* out to her house. (It was only like a 6 minute drive lol)

So we get out there, and see this bed taken apart and just laying against the house.
It was dirty, and covered in cobwebs from obviously being in storage for quite sometime.
Its in good condition, so we offer her $20.00 for it.
SCORE!

Here she is in all her glory.
We got the pressure washer out, and sprayed the ever livin hell out of it.
then sanded down some rough spots, but it didnt need much.

Then off to Home Depot.
Stain and matching spray paint for the side bars (They are metal)
Somehow we got the two to match, perfectly!

2 coats of stain later.
Voila

Oh, and we had to go guy a box springs and mattress...but that was the easy part lol

Here is the bed all put together in my sons room...before we did more decorating...He's a big boy now, ya know. The old Jungle theme just wasnt gonna cut it :)
Buzz Lightyear has now taken over his room...*sigh*

Boo Hoo!

What?
Whats that I see?
Halloween Crafts, already?!
Yes Ma'am!

I was on my favorite site (10 guesses on which one that is ;) )
And came across a fun and easy Halloween craft that I just HAD to do!!

I started with some wood letters that I picked up at Wally World for $2.00 a piece.
Sure I could have gotten them cheaper somewhere else...but all we have is Wally World around these parts, and I didnt want to drive 2 hours to a big city to go to Michaels!

I was just going to do just the edges in black....but I got carried away, so I did it all.
Then it came time to pick out some paper.
Again, Wally World to the rescue.
I found a pack of 7 pieces of Halloween paper there for 97 cents.
I picked these three!

Then I cut them to size...to just fit over the letters...Cant be wasting that paper!

Then I laid down a medium layer of Mod Podge.

And smoothed the paper over the letters. Making sure to get rid of any bubbles along the way.

Now here, is where I kind of messed up.
Im not perfect, I'll admit!
I should have let these dry longer than I did.
But I was anxious and wanted to get this project done!

So I took my Handie exacto knife, and cut around the paper.

Yeah...the paper tore.
And It didnt look great....I was kind of bummed..

But I kept going with the rest of the letters. Then I took some sandpaper to the edges, and made it look like I did it on purpose :)

Then I took some black ribbon, and tied them together vertically.....

And this is my semi-finished product.
When more Halloween items get put out at the stores, I'm going to get some other little decorations to put on it to make it look more festive!

Like this one, which was my inspiration for this project (found it on Pintrest of course!)

Have you done any projects from your inspiration pictures?
If you have, link them up! I wanna see!

Wanna go on a Date?

Well, here I go again....That darn Pintrest site just wont leave me alone!
I found something I wanted to re-create.
Did I do a good job at it? Probably not! lol
But I did my best.

Here is what I was trying to re-create:

Cute, right? I thought so too!
Its all the birthdates of the parents, then the anniversary date of their marriage, then the birthdates of their children.
CUTE.

I have a ton of paper coming to me that I have ordered...so I was impatient and had to make due with what I had.
It didn't come out exactly as I had planned...but its cute, and I hung it up. So there! :p

Wanna see? Huh? Do ya?

Nah.

haha Just kidding.
So here's how it started out...I was going to put the hearts and = signs, just to ya know...cute it up a little.
But my dear friend Marlana and I decided that Eh, not so cute.
So I took them off, and just spaced it a little different.

As I was Mod Podging it all down, it got spaced even more different.
I have learned through doing this project, that I will be investing in a ruler for straight lights, and even spacing.
No telling why I dont have one in my house already. Weird.

So here it is.

Its not exactly how I wanted it.
And if I ever have another kid, i'll have to make another one.
But thats OK...I like it!

Inspiration

So, I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned the website Pintrest in any of my blog posts yet
(HA!)
But I have found soooooooooo many inspirational ideas there.
Seriously, Tons.

Now I know I don't enjoy reading peoples' blogs that have other non-original pictures/ideas on it...but this is purely an inspirational post.
I promise I wont have tons of these :)

I really this this is going to be one of my next projects.
Its super simple, and it would be fast. But very cute.

Then these.
Oh how I love this idea.
Why didn't *I* think of this?
Simple, yet adorable.
Decorate Pringles cans for cookie gifting, or Spaghetti noodle keeping!

And we all know of my obsession with old Skeleton Keys...
So to gather a bunch of random objects, arrange them in the shape of a Key, then paint.
LOVE.
LOVE.
LOVE.

Wal-Mart had these kind of cute, kind of ugly plastic trays on sale a few months ago.
I paid a whole $1.87 for them.

Now I need to gather bottle caps...I wonder if I could get my Dad to have the bartenders keep them at the club he manages..Hmmm...

Now the last...
I have black thumbs.
I swear I cant even keep those un-killable Creeping Charlie plants alive!

But one day I will grow my own herbs.
And when I do, I shall do this!

What inspires you?

Lots of rest for me today.

I hope everyone is having a much better day than i am!

Homemade Playdoh!

I really need to make this again! It was fun to make, and my son loved it!

So here's how ya do it!

‎1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
2tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp oil
1 cup water.
Combine all ingredients over med-high heat, keep stiring until it all comes together into a ball. spread out onto a cutting board/counter top until its cool to the touch. Knead for a few minutes until smooth. Seperate into individual balls and use food coloring and mix into dough.
Its SO easy, and takes less than 5 minutes to do it all :)

Baby Frames

So I'm a part of a group on Facebook of just a few women (less than 10)
and 5 of them decided to get knocked up all within a few months of eachother.
3 of them are having (have had) single babies
but 2 of the women had to go be all fancy and have twins!
So we there will be 7 babies in just a few months.

I love babies, so I wanted to make something for all of them!
Found some cute frames at good ole' Wally World and bought some ribbon.
What next you may ask?

Mod Podge of course!!

So here are the frames I made :)

Cyrena's
The following 2 are for Melissa's twins:
(they have already been born, and I have yet to get them out to her...procrastination sucks)

Hannah's
The follwing 2 are for Angie's boy/girl twins!

I seem to have forgotten to take a picture of Quin's frame....Its the one with the elephant on it, in the picture below. Whoops.

I havent sent any of them out yet....but I made them months ago...I really really need to get on it...like majorly.

Ooooo Shiny things!

I have a need for shiny things. Me likey jewelry!
I dont wear a lot of earrings though, which is weird....I wear ONE...And this is it:

(Yes, this is my ear....Please, disregard the rest of the picture)

Now, folks, is where I get into the pretties!
My friend Michele over at The B*tch is Twisted makes some AMAZING pendants!
I own this one:
I cannot tell you how much I ADORE my pendant...Seriously, its the prettiest piece of jewelry I own! (Well, of course my wedding set tops it, but nothing else!)

She will custom make any kind of pendant for you, big small, simple, extravagant!

There are no words how beautiful these are!

She also has a butterfly collection she makes in Memory of her son, Myles.
He passed in a very tragic accident, and its totally heartbreaking.
Here is an example of a pendant from her Butterfly Collection:

I want one...No, I take that back, I NEED ONE!!

If you want to venture over, "like" the page, and get searching through pendants! She has A LOT pre-made, or she will custom make you one to your liking! I promise, you will NOT be disappointed!

(Michele did not ask me to write this blog, she did not ask me to plug her business. I wanted to. But I DID get her permission!)

Homemade Ornaments!

This year, I decided I want to try my hand at making my own Ornaments.
My family always does a "White Elephant" ornament exchange, and I always take a store bought ornament...but not this year!

This one is a really simple paper ornament, shouldnt be too hard to figure out...just some craft paper and glue!
I REALLY like this idea! I need to find an old Scrabble game!

This is a perfect ornament for my son to do! I think he would have fun!

My niece Damera would L-O-V-E this ornament!!

These always look like so much fun! I cant wait to get into it!

Ahhh a beading dream! Hmmm...I'll need to go shopping for wire...
I bet it smells good too!!
Well, wish me luck!!
Oh, I got all these images of of Pintrest!

Bath inspiration!

I was browsing Pintrest, trying to find some inspiration for a little decoration for the only room in my house with none...
My poor neglected bathroom!

I found this little definition of the word Bath, and wrote it down!
(I blog, I don't handwrite things for a living...don't be hatin' on my handwriting!!)

So off to my cricut I go..I even put my dear friend Marlana on the back-burner to run back to my craft corner (its just a corner of the room...the rest needs to be put in storage, STAT!)
to get started.

White background with grey flowers seemed pretty..then black lettering.

Cut Cut Cut!
The lettering I started with isnt the same I ended with...they were too big, so I had to re-cut and downsize!
Laying it all out before you start gluing. It gives you an idea of where you really want things.
And as you can see, it didnt end up the same as the first layout...and thats OK!
Now after its all dry, and framed!
Its already hanging in my bathroom!

No, you dont get a picture of my entire bathroom...its a friggen mess in there, and I hate it...maybe it'll be the target of its own blog post when we re-do things
